Specification

SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND PREPARATION

Nasopharyngeal swab specimen collection

1. Tilt the patient's head back 70 degrees.

2. Gently insert the sterile swab.

3. Keep the swab near the septum floor of the nose while gently pushing the swab into the posterior nasopharynx.

4. Leave the swab in place for several seconds to absorb secretions.

5. Rotate the swab several times and remove it from the nostril.

Oropharyngeal swab specimen collection

1. Wash hands with soap and water.

2. Remove the swab from the package, holding it at the end of the stick.

3. Tilt the head back slightly, open the mouth widely to expose the tonsils and back of the throat.

4. Use the tongue depressor to hold the tongue away from the back of the throat.

Locate the areas of redness and white spots on the tonsils.

6. Rub the swab over the area. back and forth to avoid touching the tongue or roof of the mouth.

7. While holding the swab, remove the cap from the accompanying

DO NOT LAY THE SWAB DOWN. Place the swab in the tube.

Only use intact and undamaged test cartridges from completely sealed packaging. Do not use kits beyond the printed expiry date. Ensure cartridge pouches have been stored between 20°Cand 30°C.

The test cartridge should be used within 1 hour of removal from its foil pouch. The buffer solution should be re-capped immediately after use.

NASOPHARYNGEAL SWAB OR OROPHARYNGEAL SWAB SPECIMEN EXTRACTION

1. Transfer 400μL(about 10 drops) extraction buffer to the sample extraction tube vertically.

2. Insert the swab which has collected secretions into the specimen extraction buffer and rotate about 10 times to dissolve the specimen in the solution as much as possible.

3. Squeeze the swab tip to keep the liquid in the tube as much as possible.

4. Cover the dripper.

Test procedure

1. Remove a test cassette from the foiled pouch by tearing at the notch and placing it on a level surface.

2. Add 80 uL (about 3~4 drops)processed specimen to the sample well.

3. As the test begins to work, you will see a purple color move across the result window in the center of the test device.

4. Read the test results at 15~20 minutes. Do not read test results after 30 minutes.


RESULT INTERPRETATION

1. Positive Result

Colored bands appear at both test line (T)and control line (C). It indicates a positive result for the 2019-nCoV antigen in the specimen.

2. Negative Result

The colored band appears at control line (C) only. It indicates that the concentration of the 2019-nCoV antigen is zero or below the detection limit of the test.

3. Invalid

No visible colored band appears at the control line after performing the test. The directions may not have been followed correctly or the test may have deteriorated.It is recommended that the specimen be re-tested.
